About Paul
Paul R. Thurmond is an attorney and co-founder of Thurmond Kirchner & Timbes, P.A., with a diverse background in criminal law, having served as a prosecutor, defense lawyer, lawmaker, professor, and judge. He graduated from Vanderbilt University and the University of South Carolina School of Law. He was an Assistant Solicitor in Charleston County, prosecuting violent gun crimes, and later co-founded the firm in 2005. He has served on the Charleston County Council, as a part-time prosecutor for the City of North Charleston, and as a State Senator for District 41. He was appointed Judge for the Municipal Court of Mount Pleasant. He leads the firm’s criminal defense practice and is actively involved in various community organizations.
