About Samuel
Sam Vance was born in New York City, New York, but grew up in Roanoke, Virginia. He has been happily married to Tracy Hawkins Vance since 1994. They live in Rustburg with their three children. Sam's hobbies include spending time with his family, fishing, running, and traveling. He is an active member of Saint Andrew Presbyterian Church. Prior to joining Overbey, Hawkins, Wright & Vance, PLLC as a partner in 2011, Sam practiced with Gentry Locke Rakes & Moore (1999-2001) and Glenn Feldmann Darby & Goodlatte (2002-2009), and served as in-house counsel for Advance Auto Parts (2009-2011). He successfully represented hundreds of clients in personal injury cases and works on real estate, estate planning, and small business issues. He is chief legal counsel to the Campbell County Educational Foundation and the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra. Sam is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Virginia, including the United States Bankruptcy Court. He spends the majority of his practice devoted to personal injury cases, criminal defense, real estate, wills and estate planning, business, and local government law.
