Stephen M. Wagner was co-valedictorian at Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School in 1987. He earned his B.A. in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from the University of Notre Dame in 1991 and his J.D. from Indiana University School of Law - Bloomington in 1994. He worked for the Federal Bureau of Prisons before returning to Indianapolis law firm Riley Bennett & Egloff. In June 2000, he formed a firm with Jason R. Reese. Mr. Wagner has practiced exclusively in plaintiff's injury law for 20 years, including wrongful death, civil rights violations, sexual abuse, product liability, gas explosion and fire cases, construction accidents, and mass torts. He has been named an "Indiana Super Lawyer" for fifteen years and "Top 50 Personal Injury Attorneys in Indiana" from 2018 to 2021. In 2006, he was recognized as the "Indiana Trial Lawyer of the Year" by the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association. He is a "Distinguished Fellow of the Indianapolis Bar Foundation" and a member of the Indy Trial Lawyers Association Board of Directors. He is a frequent speaker and writer on legal topics. Mr. Wagner has tried cases to juries in Indiana and across the country, recovering multiple seven-figure and several eight-figure sums for clients. He represents the 'little guy' in high-profile cases like police brutality, daycare negligence, and fraternity hazing. He is licensed in Indiana.
