About Steve
Since 1984, Steve Hanagan has limited his law practice to representing injury victims and their families in personal injury and workers compensation cases. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Administrative Sciences from Southern Illinois University in 1980 and a Juris Doctoris degree with honors from St. Louis University School of Law in 1984. He was a recipient of the American Jurisprudence publisher’s Award for Excellence in the study of Legal Ethics, 1983. He is the author of 'Third Party Recovery and Subrogation,' Chapter 11, of the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education’s Workers’ Compensation Handbook, and 'Workers’ Compensation,' Chapter 7, of the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education’s Starting Points. He has served as President of the Jefferson County Illinois Bar Association for multiple terms and is a Charter member of the Southern Illinois American Inn of Court. He maintains membership in the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the Illinois Bar Foundation, and the Jefferson County Bar Association. He is also recognized with awards such as Best Lawyer of the Year 2013, AV Preeminent, Best AVVO Rater Personal Injury Lawyers, The Best Lawyers in America, The American Trial Lawyers, Million Dollar Advocates Forum, NBLSC Board Certified Lawyers, Super Lawyers, and Leaders in Law.
