Mr. Gustavson is a trial lawyer with extensive, nationwide experience in all phases of complex civil litigation including numerous jury and bench trials. After initial experience as a prosecutor, he has compiled a winning record as a civil litigator in public and in private practice, while advising and counseling a broad range of clients including individuals, public entities, Fortune 500 corporations and start-up companies. Mr. Gustavson’s litigation experience has encompassed a variety of civil litigation, including responsibility for defense of insureds and self-insureds, premises liability (slip and falls, sexual abuse, fire causation, shootings/criminal acts, NYC Code issues), construction site damages to persons and property (including NY Labor Law issues), products liability, civil rights suits, and extensive involvement with commercial disputes and all manner of intellectual property rights. In addition he has argued successfully before state and federal appellate courts and administrative fora.
