About Wendy

Wendy Welkom’s major focus is research and writing, which involves her in key trial and appellate work in diverse areas of law. Her work is reflected in the class action area via the firm’s major class actions for discrimination against a major lending institution, for oil spill damages against a pipeline company, and for fire and debris flows damages against a public utility company. She has also been involved with multiple individual cases raising a range of claims, including lender liability, contract and real property law, partnership and corporate law, voting rights, trust law, and Indian law. She also participates in the firm’s pre-trial and trial negotiations for work-outs, particularly as related to lender liability claims. Prior to joining Cappello & Noël, she served as Staff Attorney with the San Francisco Branch of the SEC, investigating and prosecuting securities fraud. Before that, she was an associate with Graham and Dunn in Seattle, with a practice including commercial law, antitrust, securities and complex business litigation. She was also a law clerk to the Honorable Ralph B. Guy, Jr.
