William N. Kirk co-chairs our firm’s Estate Planning & Tax Group, focusing his practice on sophisticated estate and tax planning, probate and trust administration, and taxation matters. Known for his dedication to excellence, Mr. Kirk holds a Martindale-Hubbell “AV Preeminent” rating, reflecting the highest level of professional achievement as recognized by his peers. Raised on a diversified crop and livestock farm in northwestern Kansas, Will obtained a bachelor’s degree in agriculture economics from Kansas State University prior to pursuing a law degree from the Washburn University School of Law, where he graduated first in his class, received eleven American Jurisprudence Awards, served as Notes Editor of the Washburn Law Journal and earned membership in the Washburn Moot Court Council. Early in his career, he concentrated on business and securities transactions while practicing in Wichita, Kansas, later transitioning to a leadership role in a family-owned enterprise in Palm Beach County, Florida. Building on his background in business, Mr. Kirk pursued specialized studies in estate planning and taxation, earning an LL.M. in Estate Planning from the University of Miami School of Law, where he was named an Estate Planning Fellow in recognition of his potential for excellence in this field. Committed to supporting his community, Mr. Kirk has served in leadership roles with various civic and charitable organizations. He was the founding Chairman of the Board for the United Way Foundation of Indian River County, where he contributed to advancing charitable giving initiatives. In recognition of his service, he received the Pinnacle Award, honoring his dedication to promoting charitable giving through estate and gift planning.
