Case Details
A 10-year-old boy was struck by a commercial van while riding his bicycle on a residential sidewalk in Oakland County, inflicting catastrophic injuries including a mild traumatic brain injury (TBI), a broken left arm, and a broken left leg. The van driver falsely claimed the boy “darted out” into the street. Our firm conducted an exhaustive investigation to disprove this claim, demonstrating that the crash occurred in broad daylight with a wide-open field of vision, and the police investigation found no skid marks, proving the distracted driver never even hit the brakes. We built an ironclad bicycle accident liability case.
Additional Notes
Recovery compensates our young client for his immense past, present, and future pain and suffering. In a separate lawsuit, we also held the family’s auto insurance carrier, Farm Bureau General Insurance Company, accountable, forcing them to pay for all of the child’s extensive medical bills and the crucial family-provided attendant care benefits.
