Case Details

New Hampshire Senate Bill 468, effective June 6, 2016, provides a clear process for Tier 2 and Tier 3 sex offenders convicted before 1992 (or January 1, 1993) to petition the court for relief from sex offender registration requirements. This legislation was enacted in response to the John Doe v. State Supreme Court decision.

Additional Notes

The relief is valid in New Hampshire only. Petitioners must file in Superior Court, pay fees, provide criminal records and a risk assessment. The court considers victim statements. Mike Iacopino and Jaye Rancourt are highlighted as experienced in these areas.
