Case Details

The family of a child born with severe brain injuries (cerebral palsy, spastic quadriplegia, hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy) due to disconnected fetal monitors and worsening decelerations during labor settled their Winnebago County case.

Additional Notes

A settlement agreement was reached one week before a May 28 scheduled trial date. Wisconsin law would have applied, capping noneconomic damages at $750,000. Defense argued heart rate readings were accurate and brain damage was caused by pre-existing infection. Mercy Little requires lifelong care. Case: Anna Little v.
