Mass Transit Accident

A Southwest Airlines plane skidded off of a runway at La Guardia Airport while landing, resulting in twelve passengers and crewmembers being taken to nearby hospitals for treatment of various injuries.

Pedestrian Accident

A New York City taxicab jumped onto the sidewalk and struck a female pedestrian, causing severe injury to her left foot, which physicians were forced to amputate.

Bus Accident

An inattentive school bus driver caused a rear-end collision in the Hartford-area, striking an SUV and resulting in nine children complaining of pain. The driver was cited for tailgating.

Car Accident

An August 2011 accident killed four students, including 17-year-old Casey Brenner, when seven teenagers were riding in Brenner’s SUV, exceeding the one-passenger limit under Kyleigh’s Law.

Car Accident

In December 2009, Jessica Lane, driving while intoxicated and distracted by a cell phone, failed to stop at an intersection, causing an accident that killed 22-year-old Derrick Rosado and severely injured three other occupants. Lane plead guilty to vehicular homicide and aggravated assault.

Personal Injury

A New York man suffered a traumatic brain injury and was unable to move or communicate after a police cruiser allegedly struck the dirt bike he was riding from behind during a chase. The driver of the dirt bike was killed.
