Wrongful Death
An Irwin, Pennsylvania, wife and mother was killed by a downed power line in her back yard in June 2009. She was electrocuted by 7,200 volts of electricity in front of her two young daughters and mother-in-law. The power line had fallen twice before, and the power company (West Penn Power Co.) was found negligent for improper cleaning methods of power conductors.

Wrongful Death
A tractor-trailer driver, transportation company (GLC Transportation), and cheese manufacturer were sued after a July 2010 motor vehicle accident on Interstate 80. One person died, and two others suffered catastrophic injuries (broken ribs, spinal fractures, lacerated liver, permanent brain damage, emotional damage). The tractor-trailer struck the victims' vehicle from behind. The truck driver was allegedly inattentive or asleep at the wheel.

Wrongful Death
A fatal accident involving a Philadelphia duck boat on the Delaware River in July 2010, when a tugboat pilot led a 250-foot barge into a stalled tourist boat. Two Hungarian tourists drowned, and 18 other passengers were on board. The tugboat pilot was distracted by his cell phone and laptop.
