Rhett Hoestenbach

Rhett Hoestenbach is a native Texan who graduated from the University of Miami School of Law in 1993 and became a certified attorney on May 14, 1994. He returned to Texas to practice law in his beloved Lone Star State. Since that time, Rhett has put together a formidable team of legal professionals who now work together as the Hoestenbach Law Group with offices in Austin, Odessa, Dallas, and San Diego. Lane Kazmierski

Lane Kazmierski is a native Texan, born and raised in Austin. Lane studied law at St. Mary’s School of Law and has worked as a lawyer with the Hoestenbach Law Group since 2014. After graduating from law school and before joining the Hoestenbach Law Group, Lane fought for the rights of Texans as a law clerk at the Texas Civil Rights Project. Lane has extensive experience in handling auto crash claims and other personal injury matters. As a student at the University of Texas at Austin, Lane played tight end for the 2006 Longhorn football team. Lane’s wife, Kimmy, is an elementary school teacher in the Eanes School District. Lane and Kimmy welcomed daughter Ava to the family in 2019.

Hunter Hoestenbach

Hunter Hoestenbach is a native Texan who moved 20 years ago to San Diego to attend law school and never left. He is an academic at heart who has a passion for knowledge and a drive to constantly acquire new skills. The story of his legal career is one best told by the diverse set of skills he has amassed over the years to become a top-flight litigator. He began his legal career as a jury consultant for trial teams in high-stakes patent infringement lawsuits involving hundreds of millions to billions of dollars. Working closely with endless mock trial jurors to analyze how they process evidence and argument gave him invaluable insight into the factors that truly win a case. Hunter rose from that experience to become a personal injury litigator. Not satisfied with having his knowledge limited to jury dynamics, Hunter dove deep into the literature on negotiations theory and worked closely with one of most singularly gifted closers in the country to hone his skills as a negotiator and become the complete litigator. His litigation success caught the attention of a $100 million revenue technology company out of Seattle that recruited him to be its chief legal officer and chief compliance officer. Big tech opened the doors for Hunter to the world of large-scale automation, performance optimization, and business development. He brought those lessons learned from big tech back to the practice of injury law where he has since added insurance defense to his resume. Working closely with insurance companies and adjusters in injury litigation, Hunter has witnessed first-hand how litigation decisions are made within those organizations and what factors drive their analyses on paying claims. Hunter has served as the President of the California Creditors’ Bar Association. He has successfully defended a regulatory enforcement action by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau out of Washington D.C. He has been the presenter of continuing legal education talks to judges statewide. His diverse skill set and legal background, together with his highly motivated work ethic, make him a formidable advocate for his clients.

Susan Swete

Susan Swete was born and raised overseas and has lived in the Austin, Texas area for 24 years. Susan worked her way through her undergraduate degree and law school handling all aspects of real estate marketing, transaction, and finance and went on as an attorney to spend 14 years representing clients in complex commercial construction and real estate transaction and litigation matters including commercial leasing. Susan spent her first 4 years as an attorney focusing solely on personal injury and medical malpractice and has continued in these areas throughout her 24 years of practice. Susan enjoys contributing time and legal services to organizations and courts that advocate for children who have, through abuse, neglect, or other reasons, entered the welfare system and for disabled children and adults in need of guardianship care.

Richard Davis

Richard Davis has practiced trial law in Texas for over 42 years. He has appeared in Court in over 65 Texas Counties in every region of the state, both urban and rural. He is an active trial lawyer that has tried well over 100 jury trials, participated in numerous contested hearings and mediations. Richard has a commanding voice in the courtroom and is a well-respected advocate among his peers. Richard Davis is a 1982 graduate of the Baylor School of Law and has served early in his career as Sherman County Attorney and Ector County Assistant County Attorney and Assistant District Attorney. He has known Rhett Hoestenbach for decades, participating in a variety of roles and levels of involvement in litigation matters for the Hoestenbach Law Group.

Nicholas Kotonias

Nick Kotonias graduated from the University Of Dayton School Of Law in 2019 and quickly relocated to Texas where he became a certified Texas attorney in October of 2019. During Nick’s time as an undergrad at Iona College, he was a four year member of the swim team and was recognized with the Gael of the Year award for community activism in 2014. During his law school career, Nick was a three-year member of the University Of Dayton School Of Law’s leadership honors program. Prior to law school, Nick worked for an international theme park company in their operations department. During his time in the theme park industry, Nick held an AIMS Ride Operator certification and obtained extensive knowledge of industry standards promulgated by the American Society for Testing and Materials. Nick is intimately familiar with the duties and standards required of theme park operators and is especially equipped to evaluate injuries that occur on theme park premises. Since graduating, Nick has served as a corporate default specialist and as a law clerk. Nick joined the Hoestenbach Law Group in 2020 where he focuses on representing people who have been injured in auto crashes or by the negligence of others.

Brian Chávez

Brian Chavez graduated from Harvard University in 1993 and from the Texas Tech University School of Law in 1996, becoming a certified attorney on November 1, 1996. He returned to Odessa to practice with his dad (a United States Army veteran, former police officer, and former Ector County district attorney). Brian has been of counsel of the Hoestenbach Law Group since 2016. Brian has handled numerous cases throughout his legal career and likes to say that he handles “anything from a parking ticket to a murder” in criminal courts across Texas and the United States. Brian is well respected in the legal community and renowned for knowing his clients’ cases inside and out, which has resulted in numerous “not guilty” verdicts and dismissals throughout his legal career. Brian was featured in the New York Times best-selling book and Academy Award-winning Hollywood movie “Friday Night Lights.”
