During her time as a student-athlete, she also worked as a caretaker serving the special needs community and as a CNA in a local senior care home. Her passion for education led her to pursue a master’s degree in Dublin, Ireland, in 2014. Upon returning home, Sophia earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas School of Law, where she distinguished herself with additional certifications in Elder Law and Trial Advocacy. During law school, she interned with the Legal Services Office, providing legal assistance to low-income individuals, and with Legal Services for Students, where she gained experience in tax filings. She also served at the District Attorney’s Prosecutor’s Office, handling a diverse range of cases, including children in need of care as well as adult and juvenile criminal matters. As a seasoned attorney, Sophia primarily practices in Elder Law, Medicaid Planning, and Estate Planning.
