Wyman O. “Gil” Gilmore, Jr.

Wyman O. Gilmore, Jr. graduated from the University of Alabama in 1980 and Cumberland School of Law in 1983. He returned home to Grove Hill and began practicing with his father and sister in 1983. His practice evolved into primarily representing individuals and consumers in personal injury, fraud and wrongful death cases. In 1999 Mr. Gilmore was admitted to the Tennessee State Bar and began focusing much of his practice on discrimination cases against various automobile finance companies. He has practiced in the state courts of Alabama and Tennessee, and has tried cases in the states of Mississippi and Florida. He has practiced in the U. S. District Courts for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Alabama, and the Middle District of Tennessee, the District Courts for New Jersey, New York and California, the U. S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the 6th and 11th Circuits, and the U. S. Supreme Court. He is a member of the Clarke County Bar Association, Public Justice, American Association for Justice, Alabama Association for Justice, and has served on that organization’s executive committee for several years. In July, 2004, the Trial Lawyers for Public Justice honored Mr. Gilmore and his associate counsel as finalists for the organization’s annual Lawyer of the Year Award. In 2007, Mr. Gilmore was elected into membership of the Fellows of the Alabama Law Foundation. In 2009 and again in 2010, Mr. Gilmore has been designated by his peers for inclusion in Alabama Super Lawyers. Since 2007 Mr. Gilmore has served on the Board of Directors for the Regional Child Advocacy Center. He is the Chairman of the newly formed Southwest Regional Airport Authority.

Allison Butts-Walley, grew up in Washington, County Alabama in a small town called Frankville on her mother and father’s, Carlton and Carmen Butts’ Black Angus Cattle Farm. Allison graduated from the University of South Alabama with a Bachelors degree in Political Science and a minor in Communication in 2019. Lamar Johnson

Lamar C. Johnson grew up in the small community of Whatley, near Grove Hill, Alabama. Lamar graduated high school in 1982 and from the University of Alabama in 1986. After college, Lamar worked, along with his father, in the timber industry in Southwest Alabama. He attended law school at the University of Mississippi and was admitted to practice in 1992. William R. “Billy” Phillippi

William R. Phillippi III, or ‘Billy’ as he is known to his friends, grew up in Wilcox County Alabama, just outside the town of Camden. Billy graduated from Auburn University in 2012 with a Bachelor’s degree in History. He graduated from the Thomas G. Jones School of Law at Faulkner University in 2016, and was admitted to the Alabama State Bar the same year. Now practicing in the firm founded by his grandfather, Wyman Gilmore, Sr., Billy and the members of Gilmore Law Firm strive to carry on Wyman Sr.’s legacy of protecting the people of Southwest Alabama, by giving them a voice. While at Jones, Billy was a chairman of the Board of Advocates, where he participated in mock trial competitions against other law students from all over the Southeast, and was a Director in the Deans Fellow program there. He has also been published for his unique and insightful views on ways to handle homeowner, or first-party insurance, disputes with “Products Liability for Financial Products: Judicial Insurance for the Insured.” His time at school was also spent clerking with the Toxic Torts Section of Beasley-Allen, and with the Montgomery office of Morris, Carey, Andrews, Tallmadge, & Driggers.
