Brianne Thomas
Brianne Thomas focuses her practice on personal injury and workers’ compensation cases. She is a seasoned litigator and civic leader. Practicing law since 2006 she is now Managing Partner at Boyd Kenter Thomas & Parrish and is fulfilling the dream she envisioned at age eight when she told her parents she wanted to be a lawyer. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona and is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. She began her legal career as a clerk with Boyd & Kenter P.C., which led to an associate position. Having always been given the autonomy she desired and support she needed, Brianne, a self-described “ambitious, hard-working, loyal problem-solver,” grew into her current role as managing partner at Boyd Kenter Thomas & Parrish, LLC. Brianne currently serves on the board of directors for the Association for Women Lawyers (AWL) of Greater Kansas City and serves on the Board of Governors for the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys. She volunteers for Jackson County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) which represents abused and neglected children in courts throughout Jackson County. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Rainbow Center, a non-profit organization that serves adults and children with developmental disabilities. From 2008-2012, she was elected by her peers to serve two terms on the Missouri Bar Young Lawyers Section Council. She also chaired Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association’s (KCMBA) Ross T. Roberts Trial Academy committee in 2011-2012. Brianne has been recognized as a 2015 Rising Star by KC Business Magazine and a Missouri and Kansas Super Lawyer “Rising Star” by Law and Politics Magazine for the past six years. She was voted “Best of the Bar” in 2013, 2014 and 2016 and has been recognized by The National Trial Lawyers as the “Top 40 Under 40.” In 2012, she won the President’s Award for achievement as a board member of the Association for Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City (AWL). In 2012, she was honored with the David J. Dixon award by the Missouri Bar Foundation which recognizes outstanding work in appellate advocacy. Most recently in 2021, Brianne was named Litigation Practitioner Award nominee for the Missouri Women's Justice Awards.
John B. Boyd
John Boyd founded the law firm in November 1983. Before that, he was a Missouri Workers’ Compensation judge. He accepted a temporary appointment by Governor Robert Holden to serve as Acting Chairman of the Labor & Industrial Relations Commission. Born, raised and educated in Sedalia, Missouri, John is a 1971 graduate of University of Central Missouri with a B.S. in Business Administration, and a December 1974 graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree. John is a Fellow in the inaugural class of the College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers. He is a founding member, Past-President and recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Workers’ Injury Law and Advocacy Group, a national organization dedicated to representing the interests of millions of workers who suffer the consequences of workplace injury and occupational illnesses. Counsel to the Missouri AFL-CIO and several local unions, John is also a member of Super Lawyers in Missouri and the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) panel of workers’ compensation attorneys. Concerning workers’ rights, John has lectured across the state, nationally, internationally; has testified before Missouri House and Senate committees; and has written extensively on the subject.
Mark Parrish
Mark Parrish represents individuals, families and small businesses in products liability, railroad crossing litigation, insurance litigation, and other civil litigation matters involving cases and clients throughout the United States. Practicing law since 1993, Mark has wanted to be an attorney for as long as he can remember - looking to help individuals, families and small businesses that have been harmed by others. He serves on the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys (MATA) Board of Governors and the board of Lawyers Encouraging Academic Performance. With a Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri-Columbia, Mark belongs to The American Association for Justice (AAJ), Kansas Trial Lawyers Association (KTLA) and has been listed in Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers since 2007. Outside of the office Mark enjoys time with his family.
John R. Boyd
The oldest son of Boyd Kenter Thomas & Parrish founding member, John B. Boyd, J.R. has been practicing law since 1995. He earned his Juris Doctor degree in 1994 from Oklahoma City University School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Missouri Columbia in 1991, where he was an active member of the Gamma Kappa chapter of the DeltaTau Delta Fraternity. J.R. is a Fellow in the 2016 class of the College Of Worker’s Compensation Lawyers and he is licensed before all Missouri courts; the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit; and the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri. He has been a member of the Workers’ Injury Law and Advocacy Group (WILG) since its creation in 1995 and served as President from 2011-2012. In addition, J.R. is a member of the national AFL-CIO Lawyers Coordinating Committee, and in 2012, joined the panel of attorneys for the National Football League Players Association representing professional athletes in various legal matters. He has conducted presentations and was a featured speaker about workers’ compensation issues at numerous national, regional and local events throughout the United States, including Hawaii, California, Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois, Missouri, Florida, Nevada, and others. J.R.’s peers have recognized him for several consecutive years as a Missouri Super Lawyer, and in 2012 as a Top Attorney in Missouri as ranked by KC Magazine.
Jerry Kenter
Jerry Kenter is a 1967 graduate of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, where he received his B.A. degree. Fulfilling additional graduate work at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, he received his law degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in December 1974. He is a member of the Missouri Bar; a past chairman of the Missouri Bar Workers’ Compensation Committee and the Workers’ Compensation Committee of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association. Jerry is the author of the two-volume work, Missouri Workers’ Compensation, which is considered one of the original authoritative texts for attorneys practicing in workers’ compensation in Missouri. He has also written several articles for the Journal of the Missouri Bar. Kenter served over three years in the United States Air Force and one year in Southeast Asia. He is a lifetime member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. A passionate Missouri Tiger football fan, Jerry considered coaching prior to becoming an attorney.

Raymond Salva, Jr.
Inspired by the integrity and skill of attorneys he encountered early in life, Raymond Salva left a successful career in sales and service management to pursue his true calling: practicing law. A proud graduate of the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Law, Ray worked tirelessly to earn his degree while balancing part-time work, embodying the dedication he now brings to his clients. Ray’s legal career is defined by his commitment to helping hardworking individuals achieve justice, particularly in wage and hour law. His expertise spans civil litigation, personal injury, product liability, and representing employees and unions in cases involving labor rights. Ray became a partner at Boyd Kenter Thomas & Parrish in 2020, reflecting his exceptional contributions to the firm and his field. A passionate advocate, Ray has a wealth of experience handling wage and hour disputes, including matters involving FLSA violations, prevailing wage laws, and collective bargaining agreements. His extensive work includes assisting firefighters and union representatives in identifying pay violations and navigating complex employment laws. Ray is an active member of the Missouri Bar Association, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, and the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys. He frequently shares his knowledge through presentations and educational efforts aimed at empowering workers and their advocates. When not practicing law, Ray enjoys fishing, hiking, cooking, and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. He shares his life with his wife, Krissie, and their playful cat, Elfie. Ray is also the proud father of two sons, Conner and Luke. His friends appreciate his wit, sense of humor, and dedication to his work and community. Mike Morgan
Mike Morgan, disability attorney, joined Parmele Disability Advocates in 2015, focusing his practice on disability advocacy in Kansas. Before becoming a disability attorney with Parmele Disability Advocates, he began his career in 1970 as an assistant state attorney in Miami, Fla., before being appointed division chief in 1973. Mike joined the Wichita district attorney’s office in 1974 and tried over 200 felony jury cases as a prosecutor with a high conviction rate. He went into private practice in 1977 and worked on a variety of cases involving criminal defense, medical malpractice and personal injury before joining Wichita Legal Services in 1980. In late 1989, Mike encouraged five private attorneys to obtain a temporary restraining order preventing the elimination of the MediKan program. As lead counsel of the class action, he received a temporary injunction in 1990, preventing the implementation of a new regulation that reduced available services. Although the case was later lost in 1993, the lawsuit continued the General Assistance program in Kansas that continued until terminated at the direction of governor Brownback. Mike has served on the CLE committee of the Wichita Bar Association for fifteen years and has participated in a number of CLE programs in the areas of disability advocacy, Medicare, and ethics on behalf of the Kansas Bar Association.
