Robert A. (Tony) Buzzard

Robert A. (Tony) Buzzard has been a practicing trial lawyer for over two decades and has vast experience in State and Federal Court. Concentrating in civil and criminal litigation, Tony has represented the interest of the injured and the accused. Tony is a second generation attorney and son of nationally renowned law professor Lynn R. Buzzard. Tony is one of only a handful of lawyers who has received a jury verdict in excess of one million dollars for an injured client. Due to his trial success, Tony has been selected as a Top 100 trial lawyer in the United States and a top 10 trial lawyer in North Carolina. Tony also spends part of his time teaching trial lawyers across the state and has been a featured speaker for the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, formerly the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers. Edgar R. “Ed” Bain

Edgar R. “Ed” Bain graduated from Wake Forest College in 1955 and Wake Forest Law School in 1957. After law school he worked at the North Carolina Supreme Court as law clerk for Justice Jefferson D. Johnson. He began his law practice in Lillington with Attorney W. A. Johnson in 1959, and in 1961 he opened his own law firm, the predecessor of Bain & McRae, LLP. He served as town attorney for Lillington for 25 years and was President of the Harnett County Bar. He was a respected trial lawyer for over 60 years until his death in 2021. During his career he represented clients from all walks of life and was instrumental in the recovery of millions of dollars in retirement funds for workers at the Burlington Industries plant in Erwin. In his time away from the office he was an avid golfer and enjoyed flying as a private pilot. He was also active in the community having served as an Elder and Sunday School teacher at Lillington Presbyterian Church, a Little League baseball coach, the coach of a state champion high school golf team and the chairman of the Harnett County Airport Commission.

Brian R. Taylor

Brian’s practice is primarily in the field of civil litigation. He has experience in handling matters ranging from personal injury claims to complex business disputes. Brian was born and raised in Lillington, North Carolina. He graduated from Harnett Central High School where he was a well-respected student-athlete. Brian was named as the News and Observer Student-Athlete of the Year in 2009 and 2010. Brian went on to North Carolina State University where he graduated cum laude and participated in football and baseball. Brian also completed an undergraduate degree at Campbell University where he participated in baseball. Brian went to law school at the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University. During his time in law school, Brian was a legal research and writing scholar and top student. Brian graduated 10th in his class of 136. After graduating from law school, Brian went on to work at a civil litigation firm in Raleigh, North Carolina. Brian gained valuable experience in handling a variety of civil matters. Brian gained recognition from his peers for the work that he performed during his time in Raleigh. He was named as One to Watch® by Best Lawyers® for 2023 in the field of Personal Injury Litigation. Brian made the decision to move back to his hometown to work in the community where he was raised. He sees it as a great honor to provide advice and counsel to those in need. Alton D. Bain

Alton Bain's primary areas of practice are Taxation, Corporate Law, Estate and Business Planning, Probate and Estate Administration, Trusts and Elder Law. He is one of the few attorneys in Eastern North Carolina to earn the advanced LLM degree (Masters of Laws) in Taxation. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Duke University in 1982 where he was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. He earned his Law degree at the University of North Carolina in 1985 and received his LLM in Taxation from the University of Florida in 2001.

Tracy Berry

Tracy Berry joined Buzzard Law Firm in 2020 after many years of a successful solo trial practice. Tracy is a trial lawyer who handles Family Law, personal injury and medical malpractice. Tracy's experience and practice has resulted in successes all over eastern North Carolina and gained her a reputation as a fierce litigator. Tracy and her husband reside in Harnett county and her husband serves in the United States Army.
