Terence A. Gross
The experience of Terence A. Gross provides the background for the emphasis of his practice. With extensive litigation experience, he has earned his client’s trust. Charles A. Schuster
After graduating from Florida State College of Law with Honors, Charles A. Schuster began his career as a trial lawyer with the oldest defense firm in Florida rising to become partner. In that capacity he was involved in a wide range of personal injury claims including automobile and trucking accidents, boating and personal water craft accidents, premises liability claims including slip and fall accidents and negligent security claims, product liability claims including asbestos, defective fork lifts and a helicopter crash in the Philippines and medical malpractice claims. Based on his interest in effective and efficient conflict resolution, Mr. Schuster became a Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator in 1991 and assisted hundreds of parties in reaching fair settlements of their personal injury claims. When he was an Insurance Defense Lawyer, 20% of his practice was devoted to representation of injured victims of negligence. In 2002 he joined Gross & Schuster and now spends 100% of his time representing the injured against insurance companies. He has lectured in the field of medical malpractice and effective mediation. He is an avid motorcyclist and has a special interest in representing the victims of motorcycle accidents.

Gillis E. Powell Jr.
Gillis E. (Gill) Powell, Jr. was born and raised in Crestview, Florida. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Auburn University and his law degree (Juris Doctor), Cum Laude, from South Texas College of Law in 1974. While a law student, he earned the prestigious E.E. Townes Award for Scholastic Excellence. After graduating from law school, he returned to Crestview to practice law in his hometown. Mr. Powell is a member of the Florida Bar, the American Association for Justice, the Okaloosa Bar Association, the Escambia-Santa Rosa Bar Association, the Christian Legal Society, and is an Eagle Sponsor/Member of the Florida Justice Association. He is licensed to practice in all courts in Florida as well as the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. He is an AV Preeminent rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell, an award signifying that his peers ranked his at the highest level of professional excellence. He has also achieved the Martindale-Hubbell Client Distinction Award. Mr. Powell’s main focus is litigation and trial practice. Rhett Gross
Rhett Gross is an attorney at Gross & Schuster Injury Lawyers Rhett was born and raised in Pensacola. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida before attended Florida State University College of Law where he earned his Juris Doctorate. During law school Rhett clerked for Silbert & Garon, P.A. where he gained invaluable experience working on personal injury and maritime cases. Upon graduating law school Rhett returned to Pensacola to practice law and start a family. Rhett’s practice is focused on representing individuals who have been injured or killed as the result of someone else’s negligence. James G. Clark
James G. Clark is a native of Northwest Florida and grew up in Pensacola. He attended the University of Florida in Gainesville and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Building Construction, with honors, in 1993. Mr. Clark worked in the construction field for eight years as a Project Manager for a construction management firm and as a Construction Manager for a development company. He was also a Florida certified general contractor. He decided to pursue a career in law and earned his law degree (Juris Doctor) from the Florida State University College of Law in 2004. Mr. Clark joined the firm in 2004. He is a member of the Florida Bar, the American Bar Association, the Okaloosa Bar Association, the Escambia-Santa Rosa Bar Association, and he is an Eagle Sponsor/Member of the Florida Justice Association. Ava Susan Powell is the daughter of Gillis E. Powell, Sr., the founding partner of the firm. She is a native of Crestview, Florida, and graduated from Crestview High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University in Tallahassee and her law degree (Juris Doctor) from South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas, in 1982. Ms. Powell practiced law in Houston, Texas, prior to returning home to practice law with her family in 1991. She is a member of the Florida Bar, the Okaloosa Bar Association, and the Escambia-Santa Rosa Bar Association. She is the President of Okaloosa Title and Abstract Company. She devotes her practice to Social Security Disability and Veteran’s Administration (VA) Disability Claims. She is accredited by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to represent veterans in VA benefits claims.
