Michael C. Conroy

Michael Conroy works with individuals, families, municipalities, and business entities of all types and sizes in a wide range of legal matters including personal injury, wrongful death, products liability, insurance coverage disputes, professional errors and omissions, municipal liability, and constitutional rights violations. Mike has tried dozens of cases to verdict in the state and federal courts of Connecticut and Vermont. Raymond M. Hassett

Raymond M. Hassett

Raymond Hassett, a founding partner of Hassett & George, P.C., concentrates in criminal and civil litigation, as well as family law. His criminal practice includes all aspects of criminal law, from misdemeanors and motor vehicle violations to Class A felonies. His family law practice also encompasses a wide range of issues including pre-nuptial matters and mediation, to more complex and fully contested divorce, custody, and post-judgment matters. Ray served as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney, concentrating in litigation, and as supervisor of the Financial Litigation Unit. Under his direction, this unit was independently responsible for the enforced collection of millions of dollars for the U.S. government. In addition, Ray successfully defended and prosecuted tort, contract, and bankruptcy matters while representing the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Administration, Social Security Administration, the Small Business Administration, and other various federal agencies. Through his years of practice, Ray has also represented a myriad of Fortune 500 companies and municipal clients in state, local and federal actions. Jeffrey O. McDonald

Jeffrey McDonald resides in Cheshire and primarily practices out of the Glastonbury office. Elliot B. Spector

Elliot Spector serves as a law enforcement expert for Hassett & George. Elliot was a Hartford Police Officer from 1971 through 1980. Elliot’s practice concentrates on the representation of law enforcement officers and municipalities. He also acts as a law enforcement advisor for police departments and individual officers on policy issues, critical incidents and law related questions. The Spector Criminal Justice Training Network (www.spectortraining.org) is a non-profit organization created in the 1960s under a federal grant as The Connecticut Criminal Law Foundation. Elliot and SCJTN instructors provide quality certified training to over 1,000 police officers each year. Their goal is to improve the quality of law enforcement and security training and directly impact the officers’ ability to save lives, protect property, solve prevalent crimes, and provide a high level of service to the community. Elliot has presented at many conferences on issues such as officer liability, use of force, search and seizure, technology and the law, racial profiling, emergency operation of vehicles, career survival, bias, civil rights and other law enforcement related issues. He has also participated in task forces and committees for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, National Institute of Justice, the Drug Enforcement Agency, National Police Foundation, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, and the National Ethics Commission. Elliot drafted the original State Policy on Handling Juveniles and contributed to the State’s first Domestic Violence model policy. He conducted the Law Enforcement Television Network’s “Legal Update” series from 1998 to 2000. Since 1987, Elliot has been responsible for updating the annual Connecticut Law Enforcement Officer’s Field Manual (The Red Book). He has written numerous articles published by national magazines and journals on a wide variety of law enforcement issues.
