Cory A. Caldwell
Originally from Colorado, Cory completed her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at Utah State University before moving on to the University of Utah for law school. She enjoys using her education and experience to help others in the Tooele community. Cory has practiced in numerous areas, including real estate, construction defect, constitutional law, family law, and more. Recently, Cory has enjoyed narrowing her practice areas to estate planning, personal injury, and public defense. Over the past few years, Cory has become even more passionate about protecting the rights of disadvantaged members of her community and has focused her criminal practice on public defense. Cory genuinely enjoys her work as the Tooele County Managing Defender and her role in elevating defense resources for all persons charged with a crime.

Steven L. Grayson
Steven L. Grayson is a native of Folsom, California. When he moved to Utah in 2011, he remembers it felt like coming home. Steven lives and works in Park City, Utah, and is a Board Member of the Park City Bar Association. He and his family love to ski, bike, hike, camp, and ride off-road motorcycles. Steven can be found cheering for the Utes or reading Malcolm Gladwell when not outdoors with the family. Steven’s professional career began as a prosecutor assigned to special victims, domestic violence, juvenile, and justice court cases. He has tried cases from traffic tickets to homicides and everything in between. After years of watching how the government treats defendants, Steven knew his knowledge, skill, experience, and heart align more closely with criminal defense, where he works tirelessly to get his clients the best outcomes. One of the best parts of Steven’s job is helping his clients through some of the most challenging times to become better, stronger people. He follows the philosophy that successful law practice combines scientific, analytical, and people skills. Steven strives to be the utmost professional in his approach and to contribute to the legal profession’s reputation.

Michael A. Mickelson
Michael is an avid golfer, and there’s a good chance you’ll find him on the fairway at one of Tooele Valley’s many golf courses. A lifelong desire to help people led Michael to pursue a career in law. His passion for family and estate law allows him to serve his neighbors in situations that are difficult or impossible to navigate alone. Michael believes in continuous education and quality legal representation for every client.

Katie M. Filler
Katie graduated with honors from the SJ Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah and has been licensed to practice law since 2016. After graduating from law school, Katie worked for the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office prosecuting misdemeanor and felony cases. Katie was assigned to the Major Crimes Unit and prosecuted domestic violence and special victims cases. Today, she uses those skills to help people navigate the criminal justice system. Katie focuses her practice on criminal defense, handling both misdemeanor and felony offenses. Katie is an experienced trial attorney and has represented clients accused of drug possession, domestic violence crimes, sexual offenses, and murder. Katie uses her skills to passionately advocate for her clients and achieve the best outcome in every case.

Nathan A. Harris
Nathan started his legal career as in-house counsel for a Utah based venture capitalist start-up. Over his five years with the company, he managed all corporate affairs from Human Resources to Federal Compliance in the highly regulated industries of Real Estate, Mortgage, and Insurance. Since joining Caldwell Filler & Grayson, Nathan has expanded his practice to include Wills, Trusts, Probate, and Estate Administration. He still focuses on advising businesses through any legal issues they encounter. He holds to the idea that the best remedies are found not through litigation, but through effective and creative negotiation. Nathan graduated from the University of Utah College of Law in 2016 and has since been practicing in Utah.
Matt Schmoldt
Matt Schmoldt graduated from BYU Law with honors. His Utah bar score was in the top 3% of all test takers. His LSAT score was in the top 7% of all test takers.
