Rick Sand is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas School of Law in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is a licensed attorney in the states of North Dakota, Minnesota, Arizona as well numerous Federal Jurisdictions. During law school Mr. Sand interned for the Alaska Department of Administration’s Office of Public Advocacy. While at the Office of Public Advocacy Mr. Sand advocated for indigent clients accused of criminal offenses within the Municipality of Anchorage. Mr. Sand focusses on representing clients in criminal defense and personal injury matters. In addition, he worked as contract counsel for the North Dakota Commission on Legal Counsel for Indigents. Mr. Sand enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his wife and kids. Rick has litigated numerous cases that have resulted in successful outcomes for his clients at all stages of litigation. Rick’s community involvement has consisted of volunteering at elderly care facilities as well as coaching Special Olympics - most notably as a volunteer during the Special Olympics Winter World Games in Boise, Idaho. In his spare time Rick enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his wife and kids.
William Sand
Bill Sand attended college at Hamline University, where he served as captain of the men’s baseball team. During law school, Mr. Sand received a concentration in Criminal Litigation and was awarded the Honorable Louis M. Welsh Endowed Scholarship. This award is given to the student who best “exemplifies the highest ethical standards and believes in the humanity of the law” and who demonstrates a “passionate desire to fulfill a lifelong dream of becoming a trial lawyer.” While in law school, Bill spent time with a civil litigation firm, monitored and reported on various state agencies, and worked at a law library where he conducted legal research for attorneys and professors. His legal journey brought him to Alaska, where he successfully represented numerous indigent clients facing criminal charges. He later entered the field of Special Education Law and has since helped obtain hundreds of thousands of dollars in services for parents to meet the educational needs of their disabled children. Most recently, Bill has handled a large number of Criminal Defense and Personal Injury cases for his clients. He has experienced uncommon success, with an abnormally high success rate at all stages of litigation-from jury verdicts to judicial rulings in favor of his clients. Outside of the law, Bill enjoys playing music, hiking, and spending time with family. He is involved with the Special Olympics, has volunteered at care centers for the elderly, and founded several youth baseball camps.

Staying true to his roots from his education, Tyler attended West Virginia University for both his undergraduate and law degrees. First, he graduated with honors and received a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology before moving on to WVU College of Law. There, Tyler focused his efforts on litigation and developing into a trial attorney. In his final year, he was formally acknowledged as one of the best in his class for trial advocacy by utilizing his courtroom presence and persuasive ability. Those are skills that he continues to improve and employ for our clients. Along with other members of our Sand Law team, Tyler has a background in sports and implements his competitive nature to fight for our clients. Tyler excelled in the sport of boxing and competed professionally for several years before retiring undefeated shortly before graduating from law school. In his free time, Tyler enjoys spending time with his family and raising his two young children. He is also an avid sports fan and an outdoorsman at heart.
