Whether it is a claim of medical malpractice or an automobile accident, Nick’s goal is always the same: to obtain full and fair compensation for his client. Nick was named the “2016 Lawyer of the Year” for Southwest Ohio by Best Lawyers in America for Medical Malpractice-Plaintiffs. In 2010, Nick received the prestigious Respected Advocate Award bestowed by the Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorneys in recognition of a history of effective representation of clients and adherence to the highest standards of professionalism and ethics. This award is particularly meaningful to Nick as it was awarded by the organized defense bar throughout Ohio. Nick has consistently been selected among Ohio Super Lawyers and included in the top 50 lawyers in the Cincinnati area, as well as in Best Lawyers in America. Nick has earned the “AV Preeminent” status through Martindale Hubbell, the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards. Since 2012, Nick has been an adjunct faculty member at the University of Cincinnati College of Law, teaching Trial Practice Skills to law students aspiring to become trial lawyers. He previously served the University as a member of its Institutional Review Board for 28 years. Nick has tried cases in Ohio, Kentucky and Georgia. He has successfully argued for his clients before the Ohio Supreme Court and in Ohio appellate courts. He is a published author on medical-legal issues and has lectured on the topic for many years.

He became a partner after three years and expanded the firm's practice to include personal injury claims. In 2008, his firm merged, and in 2020, it reverted to Pencheff & Fraley LPA. He is an experienced trial lawyer with extensive experience in Workers’ Compensation, Personal Injury, Intentional Tort, and Litigation, having tried lawsuits in many Ohio Counties. He has fought for workers and injured persons’ rights for over 20 years.

C. Joseph McCullough
After graduating from law school and passing the Ohio Bar, Joe joined the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, assigned to the Civil Division. Rather than handling criminal matters for the Prosecutor’s Office, he represented Hamilton County, its elected officials, and employees in civil lawsuits filed against the County, both in State and Federal Court. In 2001, Joe served as in-house counsel for Sheriff Simon L. Leis and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. While he enjoyed the opportunity to experience the practice of law from a completely different perspective, Joe missed being in the courtroom and the experiences associated with being a trial lawyer. Joe joined White, Getgey & Meyer in 2002. Back in the courtroom and working at one of the area’s premier civil litigation firms, Joe found the perfect opportunity. While his practice has transitioned from the public to the private sector and grown substantially over the years, Joe still finds himself enjoying litigation and the courtroom environment now more than ever. “The most satisfying part of it all is helping clients, both individuals and businesses, navigate difficult times but finding resolution through aggressive, efficient and practical solutions. The courtroom is the last place any client wants to be, but when the need arises, I am pleased to be trusted with the opportunity to help.” After starting at WGM as an Associate in 2002, Joe became a Partner in 2007. As his practice expanded and continued to grow, he became more involved in the firm’s leadership, taking on an expanded administrative role while maintaining a robust, active caseload. In 2019, Joe became the firm’s third Managing Partner in almost 60 years, following in the footsteps of Alvin E. White and David P. Kamp. On a personal level, Joe and his wife, Shannon, are the proud parents of six wonderful children: Jack, Sam, Will, Charlie, Andie and Grant. They are members of St. Columban Church, and their children attend Northern Kentucky University College of Law, Davidson College, University of Cincinnati, Mount Notre Dame High School, and Moeller High School. Joe frequently jokes about being a legend in his own mind. He'll proudly tell anyone that will listen that he skipped first grade and played Division I college football. But he'll also be the first to admit that those feats pale in comparison to his greatest lifetime achievement - convincing Shannon to marry him 25+ years ago and then having the privilege to raise, with Shannon's help of course, the six little (now big) miracles that God has given them. Now, Shannon and Joe spend what very little free time they have, trying to figure out a way to stop time in its tracks.
