About Aaron
Aaron Silvenis is a partner at CLR specializing in Intellectual Property, Business and Entertainment Litigation. Aaron’s technological prowess, courtroom poise and powerful written advocacy have allowed him to compile an extensive track record of successful outcomes for an array of clients in the Telecommunications, Electronic Gaming, Software, Automotive, Fashion, Action Sports, Cannabis, Film and Music Industries. Aaron has secured multi-million-dollar victories in a variety of forums throughout the United States and Michigan. He has also successfully defended clients against claims seeking damages in the millions of dollars, defeating them both on motion and at trial. Aaron, along with Managing Partner Steve Cohen, are responsible for the precedent-setting Michigan Court of Appeals decision, Planet Bingo v VKGS, LLC; which affirmed the continued viability of the Common Law Unfair Competition cause of action while simultaneously defining the contours of preemption under the Michigan Uniform Trade Secrets Act. Aaron’s victories have also established oft-cited persuasive authority governing substantive consolidation, alter-ego liability, contractual arbitrability and dismissal as a discovery sanction. Before practicing law, Aaron worked in the music industry as an Artist Development Representative for Def Jam, Universal Music Group and several other major record labels. During law school, Aaron served as a Summer Research Fellow with the American Antitrust Institute where he authored a white paper examining the competitive effects of the Ticketmaster/Live Nation merger within the live events industry. Aaron’s work has been recognized by the DOJ Antitrust Division, New York Times and by several Senators as a harbinger of the ramifications of the merger to the ticketing industry at large and the collateral impact it has had on consumers. Aaron is a life-long musician that remains active in the music industry representing artists, producers, songwriters and record labels. He is also a DJ and session musician in his own right. Adept advocate. Creative counselor. Aaron is Detroit’s true Renaissance Litigator.
