Attorney Ahmet Hisim brings 36 years of extensive experience handling a wide range of criminal cases across the state, with a particular focus on serious felonies and murder trials. Having served as a prosecutor in the Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office for 22 years, he transitioned to criminal defense eight years ago, where he has built a strong reputation for his skillful and determined advocacy. Throughout his career, Mr. Hisim has conducted nearly 150 jury trials, including 50 murder trials. As a defense attorney, he has secured numerous “not guilty” verdicts in serious cases and achieved complete jury acquittals in four separate murder cases, highlighting his effectiveness in high-stakes litigation. In his first criminal trial as a defense attorney, Mr. Hisim represented a client in an Attempted Murder case in Montgomery County Circuit Court. The client, who had been previously convicted with different representation, was granted a retrial. After a week-long proceeding, Mr. Hisim achieved a total acquittal. The outcome was so unexpected that the State’s eyewitness fell out of his chair as the verdict was read in court.
