Andrew Hand is an associate with Richard A. Harpootlian, P.A. Since graduating from Duke Law School in 2013, Andrew has handled a wide range of high-stakes and complex civil litigation including commercial and business disputes, class actions, environmental disputes, utilities litigation, consumer litigation, eminent domain cases, personal injury cases, and governmental litigation and investigations. Andrew is experienced in all phases of civil litigation, having obtained favorable verdicts for his clients in civil bench trials and jury trials, and having successfully represented his clients on appeal. Prior to joining Richard A. Harpootlian, P.A., Andrew worked for a large national law firm in Charlotte, North Carolina, and for a mid-size litigation firm in Columbia, South Carolina. Andrew spent his first two years out of law school as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Graham C. Mullen at the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina. In law school, Andrew was the Editor-in-Chief of the Duke Journal of Constitutional Law and Public Policy, as well as a teaching assistant for the first-year legal writing course. Andrew graduated summa cum laude from Clemson University in 2008, where he received the William Shannon Morrison Prize for the graduating senior with the most outstanding record in historical studies. Andrew remains an active member of the Clemson community and serves as a member of the Clemson University Humanities Advancement Board.
