Barbara R. Axelrod is a Philadelphia appellate and trial attorney known for her extraordinary results in writing briefs before Pennsylvania’s highest courts. She was awarded the George F. Douglas, Jr. Amicus Curiae Award, being the first woman to receive it in its 25-year history. Barbara worked for the City of Philadelphia’s Law Department from 1977 to 1989, rising to Divisional Deputy Solicitor, and was subsequently hired by Jim Beasley Sr. to handle appeals for The Beasley Firm. She has been an active participant in the Pennsylvania Association for Justice (PAJ) for 25 years, serving as Vice-Chair and Chair of its Amicus Committee.
