About Christopher
Christopher P. McGuire, Esq. is a senior partner with McGuire, Pelaez, Bennett & Belcastro, P.C. in Central Islip. He has been a practicing attorney for 30 years. He also served as a judge for 12 years and a prosecutor for four years. While obtaining his Bachelor’s degree with honors, he attended the Beijing Teacher’s College at the University of Beijing in China. He studied the Chinese language, culture and history, and taught English to the college professors there. Mr. McGuire also served as an aide to U.S. Secretary of State George Schultz at the Reagan-Gorbachev Summit in 1986, and later represented the U.S. in 2010, when he served as a diplomat for the East/West Trade Conference in Xian, China. Mr. McGuire served for several years as a Congressional aide and political consultant to then-U.S. Congressman Thomas Downey. As a judge, Mr. McGuire taught other judges and attorneys important legal issues at educational seminars and wrote articles for the Suffolk Law Journal. He also serves as a volunteer firefighter for the Kismet Fire Department and is a member and contributor to numerous local, national, and worldwide charitable organizations. In addition, Mr. McGuire is the co-founder of HALO (Health and Learning for Orphans) Missions, which provides hands-on medical care and educational assistance to orphans in developing countries.
