About Claiborne
Clay began his career in industry, where he worked as a machinist, maintenance machinist millwright and tool and die maker. He was also a union activist, serving as a shop steward, local union vice president and then president. Plant downsizing and layoffs caused Clay to return to college to finish an undergraduate degree in the labor studies program at St. Joseph’s University, graduating in 1995.
