About Clay

Clay Burckhalter, born and raised in Augusta, Georgia, graduated with honors from Augusta University with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a minor in Business Administration. After a decade in investment, banking, and insurance, he pursued law at the University of South Carolina School of Law on an academic scholarship, earning CALI awards in Advanced Legal Research and Civil Litigation and competing in national mock trial competitions. He served as a Judicial Staff Attorney and then as an Assistant District Attorney for Burke, Columbia, and Richmond counties, handling hundreds of cases and successfully trying numerous jury trials, including murder cases. He is a passionate and successful courtroom advocate.
