In the last 6 years alone, Mr. Gourley has obtained verdicts from Iowa juries totaling over 132 million dollars, and those are just the cases that went to trial. Including settlements, he has recovered tens of millions more for Iowans and other injured clients. Mr. Gourley obtained what appears to be the biggest verdict in the history of Iowa for one family in February of 2017. He was selected as a rising star by Super Lawyers in 2013, 2014, and 2015, and as a Super Lawyers in 2016 and 2017. He was also selected as one of the state’s 40 best trial attorneys under the age of 40 in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016. He is an active member in the Iowa Association for Justice, serving on the Board of Governors. In 2017, he was nominated and selected as a fellow in the Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers. He graduated with honors from the University of Kansas School of Business and obtained his Juris Doctorate from Drake University.
