About Dalton

Dalton Buford Floyd, Jr. was the founder and guiding force behind The Floyd Law Firm PC. He established the firm in 1973 after earning his B.S. in Business Administration and J.D. (cum laude) from the University of South Carolina. He served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force JAG Corps in Ankara, Turkey, earning certification as Trial and Defense Counsel. His legal expertise spanned corporate matters, commercial real estate, estate planning, and golf industry law, where he represented the PGA’s Carolina Section. Beyond his legal career, Mr. Floyd was a dedicated philanthropist and education advocate, serving on the South Carolina Education Commission and co-founding the Dalton and Linda Floyd Family Mentoring Program at Coastal Carolina University. He received the state’s highest civilian honor, the Order of the Palmetto, in recognition of his service.
