About Daniel

Daniel W. Linna, Jr. focuses on applications of artificial intelligence and data analytics for legal-services delivery. He holds a joint appointment at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and the Computer Science Department of Northwestern McCormick School of Engineering. His teaching and research cover innovation, technology, AI, and data analytics in legal services, as well as the law and regulation of computational technologies. He is an affiliated faculty member at CodeX - The Stanford Center for Legal Informatics. He received his BA from the University of Michigan, a second BA and MA from Michigan State University, and graduated magna cum laude, Order of the Coif from the University of Michigan Law School. He clerked for U.S. Court of Appeals Judge James L. Ryan and was an equity partner at Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn. Before law school, he was an information technology manager, developer, and consultant.
