David B. Stratton has over 37 years' experience in civil litigation, including insurance coverage litigation, insurance coverage opinions, general liability defense, legal malpractice defense, premises liability defense, civil appellate matters, police civil liability matters, professional liability claims against agents and brokers, construction litigation, and workers compensation defense. He obtained summary judgment for an insurer in a federal declaratory judgment action, obtained judgment on appeal in a coverage dispute, and obtained summary judgment for an insurer in a declaratory judgment action regarding defective construction. He has served as coverage counsel and handled numerous workers compensation insurance coverage matters. His general litigation experience includes defense verdicts for trucking companies and contractors, representation in propane gas explosion cases, construction defect subrogation, wrongful death, and water damage cases. He has also represented landlords, underground construction companies, and condominium owners. In employment law, he obtained summary judgment in federal age discrimination cases. In professional liability defense, he represented lawyers, investment advisors, insurance agents and home inspectors, and obtained a defense judgment for a title company. Prior to joining the Firm, he served six years as an active duty judge advocate in the U.S. Marine Corps, defending accuseds in courts-martial, representing the Government in court-martial appeals, handling officer misconduct matters, and was attached to the White House for the Iran-Contra Investigation.
