Kiely has over 35 years of experience within the Vanderburgh County legal system, first in private practice (1990-1997), then appointed as a Magistrate (1998-2009), and as elected Judge of both Superior (2009-2013) and Circuit Courts (2013-2025). As Judge, David Kiely created the first Veteran’s Court and co-founded the Vanderburgh County Therapeutic Work Release Program, both of which have become essential programs in the criminal court division.
