Derek has spent his career serving communities. Before and during law school, Derek worked in local government, building budgets, programs, and public policies that promoted affordable housing and equitable workforce development. While working with many members of the public in his policy roles, Derek saw the rampant injustice against workers and consumers and decided to fight for their rights through the courts.
