Edward E. Saleeby was born in Hartsville, graduated from Hartsville High School in 1944, and the University of South Carolina with an LL.B. in 1949. He was admitted to the Bar in 1949 and practiced law from 1949 to 2002. He served as a State Representative (1950-1958), Darlington County Attorney (1952), and a member of the USC Board of Trustees (1961-1972, 1988-1991).
