Gillis E. Powell Sr.

Gillis E. Powell, Sr., was a lifelong resident of Northwest Florida. He grew up in Crestview and had strong ties to Walton County. He proudly served his country in North Africa in World War II, achieving the rank of Major. After the War, he attended the University of Florida in Gainesville and earned his law degree in 1951. He returned to the Florida Panhandle after law school and entered private practice as an attorney in Crestview. Gillis E.
