J. Brandon Shumaker came to West Virginia University in 2001 as a pre-law, political science major before enrolling in the West Virginia University College of Law in 2005. Prior to graduating law school in 2008, Brandon accepted a position with an insurance defense firm in Mercer County, West Virginia, where he is from originally.
