J. Christopher (Chris) Wilson was born and raised in Bamberg, South Carolina. He graduated valedictorian from Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School in 1987 and Wofford College in 1991 with honors and as a Phi Beta Kappa inductee. He received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1994.
