Jim McMahon began practicing law in Algona in October 1964 with E. C. McMahon (his father) and Leo J. Cassel in the firm known as McMahon & Cassel. He has been a partner in all successor firms, including the present firm known as McMahon, Stowater, Lynch & Laddusaw. Following law school, he served as a Special Agent with the FBI until joining the firm of McMahon & Cassel. He is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association and the Kossuth County Bar Association.
