About James
James Humphreys is a partner and serves as the chair of the firm’s litigation practice group. His litigation practice includes medical malpractice, insurance defense, personal injury, and professional errors and omissions defense. While maintaining an active litigation practice between Knoxville, Tennessee, and Roanoke, Virginia, Mr. Humphreys routinely serves as co-counsel in litigation with attorneys from other law firms. Born in Abingdon, Virginia, and raised in Wise, Virginia, Mr. Humphreys practiced law in Abingdon before joining the firm in 1990. He also holds a private pilot’s license.
