Jesse Hernandez was born and raised in South Texas. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Government from the University of Texas at Austin, and a law degree from St. Mary's University School of Law. He began his career as an Assistant Public Defender in Laredo, Texas, specializing in criminal defense.
