Jewell Harris, Jr. is a native of Gary, Indiana. He earned a degree in Business Administration from Indiana University and his law degree from Valparaiso University. He founded Harris Law Firm in 2009, focusing on civil litigation and municipal law. He serves as the Probate Commissioner for the Lake County Circuit Court and was appointed to the Indiana Supreme Court's Commission on Race and Gender Fairness in 2015. He is licensed to practice in Indiana state courts and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, and is a member of the Lake County, Indiana State, and American Bar Associations.
