About Jim
Jim Courter was a Congressman for the 12th District of New Jersey, a ranking member of the House Arms Services Committee, and the Republican Candidate for Governor of New Jersey in 1989. In 1991, President George Bush appointed him Chairman of the Defense Base Closure and Realignment Commission. Prior to Congress, he represented numerous municipalities in Warren, Morris, and Sussex Counties and was an active litigator and Assistant Prosecutor for Warren County. His current practice includes federal and state governmental relations, administrative law, and international trade matters. He is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and Washington, D.C.
