About JoAn

Daughter of immigrants from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She received her undergraduate degree at St. John’s University and completed her law degree at Touro Law, where she was elected president of the Latino Law Students Association. She began her legal career at Siben & Siben as the first and only bilingual Hispanic attorney, and joined Cannon & Acosta in 2012 as a partner, presenting cases in New York State Supreme and U.S. Federal courts. She is also a lead flamenco choreographer and performs with Sol y Sombra Spanish Dance Company.
