John E. Juergensmeyer served as President of Illinois Bar Association Committees and Elgin Law Association of Local Government. He was an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Illinois, and Assistant State Attorney and Assistant Public Defender for Kane County. He was appointed to the National Commission on Libraries and Information Science by President Reagan. Dr. Juergensmeyer was a professor of Constitutional Law and Political Science at Judson College, and served on the faculty of the University of Illinois, Northern Illinois University, and the University of Hawaii. He was admitted to the bar in Illinois in 1963 and practiced law for over half a century. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa since 1955 and served with the United States Air Force Intelligence Service in the Far East, exiting as a Reserve Captain.
