John I. McMahon, Sr. graduated from Temple Law School in 1959 and established his private law practice in Montgomery County, focusing on representing plaintiffs in serious personal injury and wrongful death lawsuits. He achieved a landmark multi-million dollar settlement against Volkswagen of America and represented several prominent Philadelphia area newscasters. He remained an active lawyer until his passing in July 2004.
