About John

John L. Whiteman was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1975, after earning his Juris Doctor from the University of Florida College of Law. He began his legal journey in the U.S. Naval Reserve JAG Corps, where he served with distinction before transitioning into public service as an Assistant State Attorney and later as Chief of the St. Augustine Office of the State Attorney’s Office. In 1985, John co-founded a private law firm and later opened a St. Augustine office for a larger regional firm, bringing his leadership and courtroom experience to the forefront of complex real estate, probate, and litigation matters. Since joining St. Johns Law Group in 2009, John has served as the firm’s most senior attorney, continuing his lifelong mission to help clients navigate some of life’s most personal and important legal issues. Over the course of his 50-year career, John has built a reputation for integrity, professionalism, and dedication - particularly in the areas of: Probate and Estate Administration - guiding families through will administration, ancillary probate for out-of-state decedents, and complex estate distributions. Real Estate Law - representing clients in residential and commercial transactions, contracts, lease agreements, and complex property disputes. Civil and Property Litigation - handling contract and boundary disputes, easement conflicts, and quiet title actions. John’s ability to blend decades of real estate experience with a calm, client-focused approach has earned him the trust of generations of Florida families, business owners, and property investors.
