About Jonathan
Jonathan A. Simms is the managing partner of The Simms Firm, PLC. He began his legal career as a prosecutor with the District Attorney’s Office in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, handling cases involving narcotics, firearms, sexual assaults, attempted murder, white-collar crimes, and D.U.I. He then served as a prosecutor with the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia, litigating felony cases. After many years as a prosecutor, he transitioned to criminal defense, where he is known for his fierce cross-examination and effective communication to juries. He has represented clients in large-scale state and federal narcotic cases, sexual crimes, and white-collar criminal investigations including wire fraud, embezzlement, and securities fraud. His cases have been covered by major national media outlets. Attorney Simms has been a guest speaker at Georgetown University and Howard University Schools of Law and has served on a judicial selection committee.
