About Joseph

Joseph M. Farrell, Jr., also known as Joe, joined Farrell & Farrell in 1996. He brought with him the perspective of a plaintiff’s attorney, which proved a tremendous strength for defending the Firm’s clients in many pro-plaintiff venues in West Virginia. His practice has been focused on defending clients in civil litigation, with extensive experience as lead counsel in complex civil and criminal trials. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates since 1996 and has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America for Labor and Employment Law and Medical Malpractice Law specialties. He has also been recognized by the West Virginia Bar Foundation for honorable service. Joe is a certified mediator and has served in various bar leadership roles, including President of the Cabell County Bar and Chairman of the Young Lawyer’s Section of the West Virginia State Bar. He was elected to the Cabell County Board of Education three times and served as President for eight years. He has also served on the faculty of Marshall University, teaching Criminal Procedure and Legal Research and Writing. He is licensed in West Virginia and Kentucky.
